O.A.R. is renowned for its intense, vibrant live show —including selling out Madison Square Garden twice — and the communal feeling it shares with its fans. With each studio album, the band has endeavored to achieve that sense of immediacy. On THE ROCKVILLE LP, “it comes the closest,”Roberge says.”Every live band I know will always want nothing more than to carry their live performance onto the album. It’s an elusive thing to capture, so I’ll never say we nailed it,”Roberge says. “But I can guarantee we put that same live show energy and passion into each minute of THE ROCKVILLE LP and we can only hope the audience feels that.” The one-of-a kind experience of watching an O.A.R. concert has made them one of the top live bands to see today.
Sara Stevens has the kind of voice you hear once in a lifetime. Whether she’s singing an operatic aria, a musical theater standard or a tune she helped to write, Sara’s ability to embody the soul of a song is a rare gift. What’s even more amazing is that she is only 15 years old.
Growing up in Marietta, Georgia, Sara’s abilities were evident at a very early age. Sara’s parents encouraged her love of music by taking her to a performance of La Boheme at the Met at age 6 and started her on private vocal lessons three years later. It wasn’t long before Sara won first place in the American Protégé International Music Competition, which opened many doors for her, giving her the chance to perform on the legendary stage at Carnegie Hall. Nowadays you can find Sara performing at a number of private events and galas as well as singing the National Anthem for major sports teams including the New York Giants and New York Red Bulls.
Defying the confining easy paths to success as an artist is what makes Natalie Noone a singer with a bright future, but it is raw talent that gives her the aura of an emerging star.
Raised in California and now resident of Nashville, Natalie enjoyed in her chronological and artistic youths the example of her father, Peter Noone, front man of British Invasion hit-makers Herman’s Hermits, who still continues to sell out venues large and small.
She is unmistakably her own woman as a singer and musician, however, and her eclectic style is refreshingly free of obvious emulation. Though reminiscent of the young Dolly Parton, Joni Mitchell, and even the legendary chanteuses of her mother’s native France, Natalie’s personal idiom is a fusion of American roots music and sophisticated threads of European music. Surprising the audience with songs in French and Spanish, hers is not as much a traditional ‘Nashville’ or ‘Blues’ sound as an appealing synthesis of aspects of a wide array of styles and genres that she skillfully allies to the nuances of lyrics. A guitarist whose playing far exceeds the level of many strum-as-they-sing musicians’ accomplishments, she is unafraid of sparse textures that highlight her abilities as a vocal storyteller.
